Chevron has refused to acknowledge both the widespread human rights abuses caused by its Yadana project and the destructive effects that revenue from the project has had in Burma. Instead of addressing concerns, Chevron and its partners have denied the existence of and their responsibility for abuses and instead have established socioeconomic programs of questionable utility.
